Briare town - Loire Valley

On to; Briare, my destination “de jour” , famous for the: Canal de Briare, one of the oldest in France. This canal crosses OVER the River Loire.
South East from Gein, as you enter this picturesque town, you are left in no doubt as to what drives the local economy.
Activities are centered around the canal and boating.

A tourist barge heads off to cross the Loire River

As you head through town .. a pleasant square and cafe:.....

She found a shady spot to sketch the ornate canal architecture.
