Only $20,691 for a wee dram
Record-breaking sale in Dubai; two bottles of rare McAllen Scotch whisky sell for £1.2million, approx. US $1.6m.
Distilled in 1926, aged 60 years in sherry-seasoned oak barrels, bottled and released in 1986.
The bottles have labels by artists: Valerio Adami and Sir Peter Blake.
Both bottles were bought by an international businessman at an auction hosted by Le Clos, Dubai airport luxury spirits retailers.
With each bottle costing £430,000 and 28 servings in a bottle, £15,000-(US $20,691) for a wee dram.
Something tells me Ralfy will not be reviewing this one .. remember: “A minute in the glass for every year in the cask.”

Plan View of a masters space….
David Bull … picture of his carvers work bench .. note 2nd. hole for the wood stop is for a lefty (Dave) … This bench is an heirloom presented to Dave by the daughter of; Ito Susumu, an illustrious Japanese woodblock carver.
“Here's a look at Dave's carving bench. We have various carving knives and chisels, a rag to hold the block in place ("If it still works, I don't need to replace it"), a bright light, and a round bottom flask to diffuse the light.”
Shiba-San carving her blocks at Dave’s Mokuhankan bench. Note; she is a Right Handed carver.

On Line Video Sharing
You Tube has become the defacto site for WWW video sharing. There are notable exceptions and alternates, China offering the prime examples.
All of that said, factions within the You Tube contributor community feel a real need to find alternate sites free from You Tube ownership censoring various videos and channels.
A number of alternate sites are being explored. I am evaluating and using Two of the available alternatives: UGETUBE and VIMEO.

Tea BAG storage ….
Tea bags are truly ubiquitous .. When in the mood for a cup of EBT (English breakfast tea) Yorkshire Gold is “my cup of tea” … Packaged in 160 bags per box.
For home use/convenience my preference is; wooden caddies.
Lacking bulk storage for said tea bags .. Time to put that to rights.
“The best wood to use, is the wood you have” With this in mind, I mined some suitable material and hardware.
I have came up with material to produce a practical solution, letting the Tea Bag: shape/size/quantity dictate caddy size. 12” x 4” x 3” is what came about for the internal dimensions and using 1/4” material we have a utilitarian box. A plain box/caddy not unlike the humble tea bag.

“Time to talk of many things.” … aka Tea Time
Resurrection of a delayed project … A new Tea Caddy …
Late last year I started mulling over designs for additional Tea Storage. I now have a design that will form a basis to expound on: A Japanese sashimono box, joinery without glue or nails … just well fitted joints held with wooden friction pegs and wedges. … source Harry T Morris on YT.

A Stitch in time saves umpteen. .. Asian Re-Binding
Re-Stitching/Binding an Asian style book is relatively simple. (not something I do on a regular basis) Having taken apart one of my three copies to facilitate scanning the pages, time to reassemble the said book.
A few aids: a pair of thingmabobs held in a watchamacallit clamping the pages
A borrowed Tapestry Needle really makes short and sure work of stitching.
